The Savoiardo Vicenzovo ingredient prince of the best desserts in the world

In the world’s best tiramisu there is, as always, Vicenzovo’s excellence. The final stage of the eighth edition of the Tiramisu World Cup, the international competition for fans of the world’s most famous spoon dessert, kicked off today. At the end of the event’s world tour, after stops in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Toronto, Canada, the final competition has kicked off in Treviso, at the location of the Orangerie in Piazza Borsa. From October 10 to 13, hundreds of non-professional competitors from around the world will compete for the title of world champion using Vicenzovo savoiardi.

Once again this year, for the eighth consecutive edition, the Vicenzi Group will be the protagonist of the competition with its Matilde Vicenzi Vicenzovo savoiardi, the base of all the desserts of the participants who will prepare the classic version of tiramisu. Over 20 thousand ladyfingers made available to the competitors by the famous haute patisserie brand, making them the main ingredient of tiramisu: combined with coffee, mascarpone and cocoa, they create the world-famous delicacy.

But that’s not all: as part of Tiramisù in Loggia, set up in the Loggia dei Cavalieri, there will also be an opportunity to taste the tiramisu of the winners of previous editions, again with the famous Vicenzovo savoiardi.

“Matilde Vicenzi,” stresses Elena Personi Musola, marketing manager of the Vicenzi Group, ”keeping the excellence of its savoiardi intact, has chosen to enhance the raw materials of our country. This is why Vicenzovo is made with eggs from 100% Italian free-range hens, sugar from an Italian supply chain and 100% Italian stone-ground flour. A choice that makes it even more suitable to interpret one of the icons of Italian cuisine in the world, as tiramisu is.”

This 2024 edition of the Tiramisu World Cup is dedicated to Roots Tourism, a journey immersed in the flavors and taste roots of the Belpaese. There are two categories in which participants can choose to compete: Tiramisu, in which they will prepare the original recipe (ladyfingers, mascarpone, eggs, sugar, coffee and cocoa) and Creative Tiramisu, with the possibility of adding up to three products and substituting the cookie, revisiting their dessert. The winner of the best in the original recipe will become the World Champion of Tiramisu, while the best for the creative recipe will win the title of World Champion of Creative Tiramisu.

Five criteria will determine the World’s Best Tiramisu: technical execution, aesthetic presentation, flavor intensity, balance of the dish and harmony of flavors. Finally, many prizes will be awarded during the days of the competition, including the Matilde Vicenzi prize, reserved for the future world champion of the “Original Recipe” Category, who will be awarded the Vicenzi Experience.
